MINILAB is using 4 VGA high speed color cameras coupled to a force plate. All this is integrated in a mobile walkway and portable in a transportation box. MINILAB requires little space and can be mounted in a cabinet. The system is easy to set up and operational in less than 20 minutes. An automatic calibration is realized by a checkerboard positioned on the force plate. After attaching color-coded skin markers on the foot, MINLAB is able to record static and dynamic trials. The markers are automatically recognized and tracked. No manual labeling is required. The 3D kinematics and kinetics are calculated for the defined foot joints, (angles, forces and moments of the ankle and the first metatarsophalangeal joints) as well as the ground reaction force and the center of pressure are provided as output.

Designed as a mobile platform, MINLAB can be easily carried to different locations to allow the orthopedist, chiropodist, sports scientist, physiotherapist, etc. to perform measurements on his patients / subjects. Working with the system is easy and can be learned in half a day by a non technical skilled person.
Once measurements are finished MINILAB can be easily disassembled to bring it to the next measurement location.
